Here at Agility, our tree experts are able to offer cable bracing as an alternative to tree removal. Cable bracing is a procedure that involves the use of high-quality cables to secure a tree and prevent new problems from happening. For more information regarding cable bracing, read below.
Cable Bracing is an alternative to tree removal used for significant trees, or trees with historic value. This service is often used when these trees have potential for significant limb failure. Cable bracing uses industry standard cables to support the tree and help retain its shape. Cable bracing can help improve visual aspects of the tree and catch the tree if it were to potentially crash. While cable bracing is a professional procedure that we offer, it can be invasive to the tree and all outcomes should be considered prior to cable bracing. Give us a call for more information on cable bracing. Our expert tree professionals at Agility Trees will use the best resources and skills to carefully perform all cable bracing procedures. If you have any questions, speak with us for a free consultation.
cable bracing can be an invasive procedure. For this reason it is only done on significant trees, or trees with historical value.
There are 2 types of cable bracing procedures:
Invasive: An invasive cable bracing procedure involves a wire or cable being drilled through the trunk of the tree. This procedure often leaves the tree fixed in its position. A bolt is used to secure the wire or cable. The tree will have to heal and live with the cable bracing inside of it.
Non-Invasive: a non-invasive cable bracing procedure involves wrapping a dynamic rope around the tree. This rope can be adjusted with the tree as it grows and time goes on.
Cable bracing is a lot more expensive than tree removal. There is a lot of planning that is required for cable bracing. At Agility, we provide a full arborist report including liabilities when it comes to performing a cable bracing service. For this reason, cable bracing is usually only done on significant trees. Any tree that has had a cable bracing procedure requires follow-ups. An initial follow up is done to make sure the tree is healing from the procedure. Annual or yearly follow-ups will be ongoing.
